After a long and hard working period of time, Eersterust Community Development Forum (ECDF) finally saw light at the end of the tunnel. the city of Tshwane officially approved the ward 43 Community Upliftment Precinct (CUP) application. the CUP is to give the community of Eersterust to work in public spaces and ensuring a cleaner and more safer environment for all.
the community will now be able to take charge in cleaning of parks, cuting grass, repairing of broken infrastructure and activities such as planting trees. the CUP also aims to help fight crime in the community by having community safety patrols and crime awareness campaigns.
Arnold Adams ECDF Coordinator said although this is a significant achievement, it cannot succeed without the support and dedication of the community as well as partners. he extended his gratitude to the City of Tshwane for recognizing the importance of the
initiative and granting them the authority to do good in the community.
With the approval of the CUP the Community Forum now moves to their action and operational plan outlined in the application. community members are urged to join hands with the forum in this trans-formative journey. this is calls up for volunteers as activities are starting immediately, focusing on high priority areas and will move to all 23 other blocks in ward 43. the EDCF will do weekly reports to the community about the activities done. Adams concluded by saying this is a start for a brighter future for POORTIES!!.
